Hunting Sites
AFGC has acquired a hunting club known as the Texas Conservation and Hunting Club (TCHC). TCHC has an existing membership with almost 20 properties totaling close to 20,000 acres. AFGC's existing hunting properties and operation will transition into the TCHC format. One difference between the two clubs is TCHC members have no day access or kill fees, only yearly membership dues. The transition will be complete by the ’08-’09 hunting seasons.
(This will have no effect on or take away any focus from our fishing operation.)
Like AFGC, TCHC limits available memberships, and many AFGC hunting members have transferred to the new format this season. Memberships will be honored for the AFGC members remaining in the day fee format through the ’07-’08 season.
The map below has color coded triangles. The GREEN triangles represent TCHC properties. Only TCHC members, including the AFGC members who have made the transition, have access. The RED and BLUE triangles represent AFGC properties. These sites are designated for the AFGC members under the day fee operation.
With the void created on AFGC’s properties by many members transferring to the new TCHC format and its properties, TCHC members will have limited access to AFGC sites this season. The blue triangles will be available with an additional day fee and the red triangles are available with no additional fees. However, to ensure that AFGC members can make a reservation without competition from TCHC members, TCHC members can only be guaranteed a spot 48 hours prior to the day of their reservation.
